Who is the best Real Estate Agent?

FOX, KAREN: realtor-&-family.gif Is it the one with the most assistants or the one with the most listings currently?  Is it is the one that has the most ads in the paper this week or the one with the most billboards?  Perhaps these are all good sales representatives, but the person you want to work with is the person that you feel comfortable with.  It is the person you trust, the person that has enough experience in your market and it is the person that has the information that you require to make an informFOX, KAREN: realtor-&-couple.gifed decision.

The very best Real Estate Agent is the one that you choose to work with.  Ask your sales representative what they will do for you.  Talk to that person.  Make an appointment to visit with them. Ask friends about their experiences.   You wouldn’t pick just any accountant, dentist or lawyer.  Choose who you want!  Remember to stick with that person.  You will get the best service available and accomplish what you set out to do if you give your loyalty to the person you trust! You need someone who is experienced, knowledgeable and cares. You may choose to work with an accredited buyer agent that has been specially trained to deal with today’s buyer and the complexities of today’s market. That designation is called (ABR) Accredited Buyer Representative and not all sales representatives have this designation. You may choose to work with a realtor that has a Green designation and can navigate through the prospective homes to find one that is energy effecient and will save you money,

How does a real estate agent get paid?

 FOX, KAREN: realtor-girl.gif

We can be paid by the buyer but are usually paid by the seller.  There is a commission that is split between the listing company and their sales representative and the selling agency and their sales representative.   We do not have company cars, expense accounts or a salary.  We are paid only if and when a sale is completed and you take possession of your new property.  Most of us pay for all of our expenses such as gas, paper, photocopies, phone calls, advertising, signs, postage and pagers or phones etc.  At Re/Max we pay the office just to work there.  We have monthly expenses relating to our offices and staff. We also have annual dues and fees and must take continuing education courses to maintain our license all of which are at our own expense.  We pay for everything that we have or use.
